Volunteer Artists Paint Holiday Window Designs at Children's Service Center

November 25, 2022

Both seasoned and new volunteerartists gathered at Children's Service Center, Wilkes-Barre on Black Friday to paint holiday window scenes in honor of the late Edward Luksha, a former therapist at Community Counseling Services (CCS), which closed earlier this year.

This 24th annual remembrance is sponsored by the Luksha-Roche family and included artists from Sue Hand's Imagery, Greater Federation of Women's Club, West Side, and Saint John the Baptist Church, in addition to art educators Ashley Lunger (Dallas School District) and Nicole Delevan (Wallenpaupack Area School District), and other affiliated artists. The group's continued efforts lovingly illustrate Edward Luksha's philosophy of enriching the lives of individuals struggling with emotional and mental distress. Children's Service Center, in recognition of the painters' contributions, celebrated the occasion with a pizza party for participants.

Painters decorated CSC's outpatient building with scenes of candy canes, hot cocoa, gingerbread men, polar bears, snowmen, gnomes, cardinals, and Charlie Brown characters. The designs will be displayed throughout the winter. Rosemary Luksha and Barbara Roche would like to thank Children's Service Center and all painters for their continued service in this annual event honoring their beloved brother, Ed Luksha.
